New here? Start with these 5 steps

  1. 1Create your account and confirm your email.
  2. 2Tell Plucky the role you want and add your resume.
  3. 3Read your free Job Match Report.
  4. 4Pick a job and run Resume Map, then Apply Package.
  5. 5Track the job on your dashboard and prepare for the interview.

Part 1

Create your account

Sign up, confirm your email, and log in. It takes about two minutes.

  1. Open the sign up page

Click "Start free coaching" on the home page, or go to the sign up page directly. You get 20 free credits, and no credit card is needed.

    Go to sign up →
  2. Fill in the form

Enter your first name, last name, email, and a password of at least 8 characters, then type the password again. Your phone number is optional. Tick the box to confirm you are at least 16 and agree to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, then click "Create account".

Tip: If a friend sent you an invite link, you will see a banner offering 10 bonus credits. They are added when you finish setting up.

  3. Confirm your email

Open the email from Plucky and click the confirmation link. If it has not arrived after a few minutes, check your spam folder, then click "Resend confirmation email" on the "Check your email" page.

  4. Log in

Log in with your email and password. Until your email is confirmed, the login page will remind you to confirm it first.

    Go to log in →

Part 2

Set up your search

One screen: the role you want, and your resume if you have one.

  1. Enter your target role

Under "What role are you going for?", type the job you want, for example "HR manager" or "registered nurse". This is the only required field.

  2. Add your resume

Drop your resume into "Choose or drop your resume", or click it to pick the file. PDF, DOC, DOCX, and TXT files up to 10 MB work. It is optional, but Plucky gives much better results with it, and it does a full review in your first session.

  3. Click "Start coaching"

Plucky opens your first chat and starts your free Job Match Report right away.

Part 3

Your Job Match Report

The 30 open roles where you are the strongest candidate, ranked.

  1. Watch it work

The report usually takes 2 to 4 minutes. You will see "Searching open roles for you..." and a live list of the searches Plucky is running. You can leave the page; the report will be there when you come back.

  2. Read each match

Each role has a fit score out of 100, the reasons you fit, and the gap to address. "View posting" opens the job ad. When Plucky could not confirm a direct link, "Find posting" searches for it instead.

  3. See the full list

The top 10 show first. Click "Show all" to see every role, and "Show top 10" to go back.

  4. Run it again later

Your first report is free. Each new report after that costs 1 credit. Plucky also sends you new matches every week (see "Track your applications").

Part 4

Use the chat

Pick a path or a step and Plucky writes the prompt for you.

  1. Start from the start screen

Click "New chat" in the left sidebar. Under "What do you want to win today?" pick one of three paths: "Land the Role" (tailor your resume and apply), "Get Referred" (a one pager and a referral ask), or "Get Visible" (LinkedIn content and a relationship plan). Each card shows what the full path costs.

  2. Or pick a single step

The cards above the message box (Plucky Resume, Job Match, Promotion Pivot, Career Pivot, Super Apply) each start one step. You can hide them in Settings, General, "Superpower suggestions".

  3. Choose the job or company

Most steps ask what they are for. Choose "Pick a job" to use one from your match report or tracker, or type a company under "Target company or job". You can paste the job description for better results.

  4. Click "Run"

The button shows the exact cost, for example "Run · 2 credits". Nothing runs and nothing is charged until you click it.

  5. Write your own question (optional)

Click "Advanced: write your own prompt" to type freely. Press Enter to send and Shift + Enter for a new line. The microphone button lets you dictate instead of typing.

Tip: Free form questions are priced by size: a quick question costs less than a full rewrite.

  6. Attach a file

Click "Attach file" next to the message box to add a resume, job description, or screenshot. PDF, Word, TXT, CSV, JSON, PNG, JPEG, and WEBP files up to 10 MB work.

  7. Use the answer

Under each answer you can read it aloud, copy it, rate it, or click "Regenerate". "Regenerate with feedback" lets you say what to change.

Part 5

Tailor your resume

Resume Map rewrites your resume for one exact job, then you download it.

  1. Run Resume Map for a job

Pick a job and run "SP1 · Resume Map" (2 credits). Plucky lines your experience up against every requirement in the job description and rewrites your resume for that role.

  2. Check your resume score

A score card shows how the resume does on measured results, requirements you meet, sections and contact line, and strong bullet openers.

  3. Fill in the blanks

Plucky never invents experience or numbers. Where a number would make a bullet stronger, it leaves a blank for you. Click "Finish your resume" and fill each one with the true figure.

  4. Pick a template and download

Choose one of six templates (Modern, Classic, Executive, Technical, Healthcare & licensed, Early career), then click "Download Resume" as Word or PDF. Your files are also saved under "My files" on your dashboard.

Part 6

Apply to a job

Apply Package writes everything you send with the application.

  1. Run Apply Package

Pick the same job and run "SP5 · Apply Package" (1 credit). You get a cover letter, a short LinkedIn message to the hiring manager, and a follow up email to send five days later.

  2. Find the hiring manager (optional)

Ask in the chat, for example "Find the hiring manager for this role and map an intro path." Looking up contact details adds 2 credits to that answer.

  3. Mark it as applied

On your dashboard, find the job in your tracker, click "Update", and choose "I applied". Plucky reminds you when it is time to follow up.

Part 7

Get referred

A one page proposal for the company, then the referral ask.

  1. Create a Referral One Pager

Run "SP5 · Referral One Pager" (2 credits) for your target company. Plucky makes a branded one page PDF on how you would help them.

  2. Share or download it

Click "Download PDF", or copy the share link and send it to the hiring manager. On your dashboard, "My files" shows how many times it has been viewed.

  3. Ask for the referral

Run "SP5 · Referral Ask" (1 credit) for messages to the hiring manager and to people you know at the company.

Part 8

Get visible on LinkedIn

Post like an insider and build the relationships that open doors.

  1. Run a Content Pack

"SP3 · Content Pack" (1 credit) writes a LinkedIn post in your voice, plus three comments to leave on other people's posts. The chat reminds you when it is time for this week's post.

  2. Follow a 30 Day Relationship Plan

"SP4 · 30 Day Relationship Plan" (1 credit) picks 10 people to reach, writes the warm up messages, and sets a follow up schedule.

Part 9

Prepare for interviews

Prep built from the job, then practice out loud.

  1. Mark the interview

In your tracker, click "Update" and choose "I got an interview". Plucky then offers the interview steps for that job.

  2. Run Interview Prep

"Interview · Interview Prep" (1 credit) gives you STAR answers (situation, task, action, result) mapped to that role, built from your experience, and what to say first.

  3. Practice with a Mock Interview

"Interview · Mock Interview" (2 credits) asks 5 questions. Click "Listen" to hear each one and "Answer out loud" to speak, or type your answer. Every answer gets a score out of 10 and feedback. Aim for 1 to 2 minutes per answer.

Tip: Answering out loud works in Chrome, Edge, and Safari. In other browsers, type your answers.

Part 10

Negotiate and start strong

Get paid what the role is worth, then make a strong start.

  1. Mark the offer

In your tracker, click "Update" and choose "I got an offer".

  2. Run Salary & Negotiation

"Offer · Salary & Negotiation" (1 credit) researches the pay range for the role and writes your negotiation script.

  3. Build your 30 60 90 Day Plan

"Start Strong · 30 60 90 Day Plan" (1 credit) sets your first week priorities, the key people to meet, and early wins to aim for. Bringing one to a final interview also sets you apart.

Part 11

Track your applications

Every role you are working on, in one place on your dashboard.

  1. Open your dashboard

Click "Dashboard" in the top bar. The application tracker lists roles from your Job Match Report, jobs you saved, and new roles from your weekly job alerts.

    Open dashboard →
  2. Update each job as you go

Click "Update" on a job and choose "I applied", "I got an interview", or "I got an offer". The buttons on each job suggest the right next step.

  3. Save jobs from any site

Click "Save a job from LinkedIn, Indeed, or any site" and paste the job title, company, link, and description. For one click saving, install the browser extension (Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera) or the "Save to Plucky" bookmark, which works in every desktop browser.

    Save a job →
  4. Get weekly job alerts

Each week Plucky emails you new roles that fit and adds them to your tracker, tagged "New this week". Turn this on or off in Settings, Notifications, "Weekly job alerts".

Part 12

Manage your chats

Find, rename, pin, archive, export, or delete past chats.

  1. Find a chat

Your chats are in the left sidebar, grouped by date. Use "Search chats" to find one. On a phone, tap the menu button at the top left to open the list.

  2. Organize it

Open a chat's menu (the "..." button) to rename, pin, archive, export as a Markdown file, or delete it. You can also click the chat title at the top to rename it.

  3. Restore an archived chat

Archived chats are in Settings, "Archived chats". Deleted chats cannot be recovered.

Part 13

Credits and costs

What each step costs, and what happens when you run low.

  1. Know the price before you run

New accounts start with 20 free credits. Guided steps have a flat price, shown on the "Run" button and in the table below. Free form chat varies with the size of the job. You are never charged more than your balance.

  2. Check your balance

Your balance is in the top bar. Settings, "Usage" shows your credits and a full "What things cost" table.

  3. When you run low

At 10 credits or fewer, the chat shows how many are left. When they run out, the message box is replaced by an option to add more, for example the Starter pack: 150 credits for $59, one time, and they never expire.

The Starter pack is a one time purchase and never renews. Pro plans renew automatically each month or year until you cancel, and Pro credits refresh at each renewal.

  3. Manage your payment details

On the Billing page, "Manage billing in Stripe" lets you update your card and see your invoices.

  4. Cancel anytime

On the Billing page, open "More billing options" and click "Cancel subscription". You keep access and credits until the end of the period you paid for. Changed your mind? Click "Resume subscription".

  5. Ask for a refund

Within 90 days of a purchase, email support@pluckyai.com from your account email with the subject "Refund request". The Pluck Promise in the Terms of Service has the details.

  1. Copy your invite link

On your dashboard, find "Invite friends" and copy your link, or share it on LinkedIn or by email.

  2. Earn credits

When a friend signs up with your link and finishes setting up, they get 10 bonus credits and you get 10, for up to 10 friends every 30 days. The card shows how many joined.

Part 17

Share your story

Got interviews or an offer? Tell us.

  1. Send your win

Click "Share your story" on your dashboard, or "Share your win" after an interview or offer step. Say what you were stuck on, how Plucky helped, and what happened. Choose how your name is shown and whether we may share it.

  2. We check before sharing

We only publish stories people asked us to share, in their own words, and we review each one first.

Common problems

My confirmation email has not arrived.

Check your spam or promotions folder, then click "Resend confirmation email" on the "Check your email" page. Make sure you typed your email correctly when signing up.

My Job Match Report is taking a long time.

It usually takes 2 to 4 minutes because Plucky searches live job postings. You can leave the page and come back; the report is saved to your chat.

A posting link does not open the job.

Jobs close and links change. When "View posting" no longer works, use "Find posting" or search the company's careers page. Plucky also checks saved links regularly.

Answering out loud does not work.

Voice answers need Chrome, Edge, or Safari, and permission to use your microphone. You can always type your answer instead.

My file will not upload.

Files must be 10 MB or smaller. Resumes work as PDF, DOC, DOCX, or TXT. In chat you can also attach CSV, JSON, and images (PNG, JPEG, WEBP).

I ran out of credits.

Add the Starter pack (150 credits for $59, one time) or a Pro plan from the Billing page. Inviting friends also earns credits.

Will Plucky make things up on my resume?

No. Plucky only writes from the experience you give it. Where a number would help, it leaves a blank for you to fill in with the true figure. Always review what you send.

Something is broken or confusing.

Click the "Support" button on your dashboard, or email support@pluckyai.com with what you were doing and a screenshot if you can. You can also check whether the service is running on the status page.

Still stuck?

Email support@pluckyai.com with what you were doing and a screenshot if you can. A real person reads every message.
